I understand the ideology behind the article though I don’t agree with all the points mentioned. I think advertisements are good up to a certain extent when you are getting useful ones. It has to be a complete freedom of choice to the users when building an application or platform up-front.

The monetization policy should be a sharing revenue model which will benefit everyone. Everyone Wins if they are not greedy.
